Exploring claustrophobia and longing through form

This project began as an attempt to translate an emotional state into a garment. I wanted to capture feelings such as claustrophobia, longing, and tension—and express them through silhouette, texture, and proportion.

The conceptual foundation was inspired by the German Renaissance and a painting by J.F. Willumsen, which served as a visual and emotional anchor throughout the process. I worked with knitted samples, layered textiles, and sculptural draping to evoke a sense of restriction and vulnerability.

The result is a white shirt that feels both protective and exposed—structured yet fragile
